Montreal, December 22, 2010 - AlphaMosaïk, renowned leader in the field of IT is proud to announce the deployment of a new business practice which is specialized in Microsoft’s Business Intelligence solutions.
This new practice will help manage and provide a better overview of multiple, ongoing Business Intelligence projects as well as centralize the knowledge via AlphaMosaïk’s internal expertise center, thus helping us meet the ever-changing market demands.
In order to oversee this initiative, AlphaMosaïk has hired a new Business Intelligence practice leader. With nearly 15 years of consulting experience with firms such as Accenture, CGI and LGS, Sébastien Vallée will be in charge of ensuring the management and development of this new business unit. Sébastien Vallée also has acute business knowledge and possesses the required expertise regarding the main solutions available on the market such as Microsoft, Actuate, Cognos, IBM, Business Objects, Hyperion and Oracle.
Alain Cloutier, President of AlphaMosaïk, emphasized that a recent Gartner study confirmed that the Business Intelligence tool market continues to significantly grow, year after year, despite the current difficult business conditions felt throughout the world. Companies and firms have learned that data quality represents one of the key competences required for the success of strategic projects such as: data governance initiatives, business intelligence and the modernization of computing hardware and software. Alain Cloutier concludes that: « this new initiative will allow AlphaMosaïk to position itself as Microsoft’s main Business Intelligence technologies integrator in the province of Quebec, since our company will continue to exclusively specialize itself in Microsoft’s technologies such as SharePoint, Performance Point, Excel Services & SQL Server.
Marc-André Roy, Vice-President Sales and Marketing, further emphasized Microsoft’s rather unique position on the market in terms of Business Intelligence solutions. As opposed to traditional Business Intelligence solutions which require substantial investments in new software and maintenance costs, clients that currently use SharePoint and SQL already have all the software required to deploy a leading-edge Business Intelligence solution. Finally, Marc-André Roy indicates that Microsoft will be in a rather privileged position on the market based on a study performed by the Forrester group which states that the Business Intelligence market could be worth over $14 billion by 2014.
The Business Intelligence concept was established by the Gartner Group in 1989 in order to designate the set of means and methods used to gather, consolidate, analyze and render available the corporate data used in the decision-making process. Furthermore, Business Intelligence designates the software solutions used in decision support systems which combine: database query functions, reporting, multidimensional analysis (or OLAP), data mining and data visualization through dashboards, scorecards and key performance indicators. The main objective of Business Intelligence is to obtain a single version of the truth when it comes to the firm’s critical data, thus improving the decision making process.
AlphaMosaïk’s offer in terms of Business Intelligence will be based around three major services: Business Intelligence Strategy, the creation and migration of Microsoft Business Solutions, the optimization and management of data warehouses.
This offer will then be divided into functional services (Governance, business analysis, project management and business intelligence) and technical services (Technical analysis, data management, metadata management, ETL, MDM, Business Intelligence reports, Dashboard and performance indicator, predictive parsing, data quality assurance, training).
